After scoring points on the new Superbike Advocates team’s WorldSBK debut at Portimao, Tommy Bridewell heads to more familiar territory at Assen this weekend.

Bridewell took three podiums at the famous Dutch circuit in British Superbike from 2012-2019, then added a pair of fourth places during the circuit’s return to the BSB calendar last season.

With the Portimao weekend on the Panigale V4R, which culminated in a 13th place, now under his belt, Bridewell says he feels “worthy to be in WorldSBK”.

“I’m really looking forward to Assen. Having completed the Portimao round, I now feel worthy to be here in WorldSBK and the goal in coming weeks is to just keep on progressing,” Bridwell said.

The Englishman added that he will be working on corner speed through the fast Assen kinks.

“Assen can definitely be a good track for us. It’s a track I know, and it will be the perfect place for me to take a step in terms of my speed mid-turn and out of the corners, as at Assen you have to have the flow,” said the former BSB champion.

“As for the conditions, I could do with it being dry but, either way, I’m very much looking forward to this next challenge.”

Bridewell's best WorldSBK career finish to date is tenth at the 2019 Jerez round, as an injury replacement for Eugene Laverty at the GoEleven Ducati team.
