2026 US Moto2 - Race Results
Results from race three of the 2026 Moto2 season, the US Grand Prix at COTA, with Senna Agius winning the shortened 10 lap race after a red flag.

The Moto2 race at the Circuit of the Americas in Austin Texas was restarted over a shorter ten lap distance, with Senna Agius winning the battle at the front for the podium places.
Barry Baltus started from pole after the original polesitter from Q2, David Alonso, received a tyre pressure penalty, demoting the Colombian to 17th.
Back on pole for the restart the Belgian was one of several riders handed a penalty from the first time the lights went out. Heading up the long lap loop allowed the Liqui Moly Dynavolt Intact GP rider to take back over out front having battled for the lead with Baltus.
Celestino Vietti and Izan Guevara were within touching distance of the win, with the Speed RS rider moving ahead at the start of the penultimate lap, pushing to the limit and holding on as his bike wobbled around Austin.
The Australian was determined after a tough few weeks for himself and his team and a final push saw him back ahead at the start of the last lap, leading over the line on the Kalex for a third win in the class.
It was another Boscoscuro bike in third, with Guevara clear of the gremlins that had given him bike issues all weekend on the Blu Cru Pramac Yamaha.
Alonso powered through the remaining riders ahead to claim fourth for Aspar, passing Manuel Gonzalez, who takes over in the title hunt after placing fifth on the second Dynavolt bike.
After his penalty Baltus re-joined sixth, where he finished the race.
Alonso Lopez got a strong start and was the early leader before falling back into the pack, then running wide late on - dropping the Gresini rider to seventh.
Alex Escrig was a solid eighth for Forward, while Joe Roberts was able to re-joinafter his fall on the first start and give the home fans a performance to cheer, digging in to move up to ninth for American Racing, with Tony Arbolino completing the top 10 for Fantic Racing.
Ivan Ortola was over two seconds behind in eleventh for QJMotor, just keeping at bay Adrian Huertas for Italtrans in 12th.
Aron Canet took 13th for Elf Marc VDS, Daniel Munoz 14th for Italtrans after his trip around the loop, with the final point going initially going to Ayumu Sasaki.
The Japanese rider did not serve a long lap penalty in the race for re-joining unsafely, so six seconds was added to his time, moving rookie Jose Antonio Rueda up to 15th, collecting his first point for Red Bull KTM Ajo.
Official COTA Moto2 Records:
Fastest race lap: Alonso Lopez (2024) 2:08.210s
All time lap record: Manuel Gonzalez (2025) 2:07.355s
New lap record: Barry Baltus (2026 - Q2) 2:05.347s
Daniel Holgado, who lead the championship standings after Brazil, was out of the points in 16th.
Crashes, injuries and replacements
Dennis Foggia was back to replace Luca Lunetta at SpeedRS, finishing 19th.
The original race start saw contact between Roberts and Holgado at turn one. Holgado was handed a long lap penalty for the restart for causing a crash.
Munoz was also given a long lap penalty, along with Baltus for swerving in front of others, deemed an unsafe change of direction, on the original start.
The huge incidents came moments later at turn eleven where an out of shape Alberto Ferrandez tried to stop his bike, but skittled into the riders already in the corner. Sergio Garcia, Alonso, Munoz, Collin Veijer, Filip Salac and Angel Piqueras were all caught up, with Piqueras taking the brunt of the accident, being hit on the shoulder, and then by another bike.
Both the Spaniard, who didn’t get the chance to serve his long lap penalty, and fellow countryman Hernandez went to the medical centre for checks. All riders were eligible for the restart if they could get their bikes in order, with fewer than three laps completed.
Sergio Garcia was also not fit to restart.
The pit lane then had a delayed opening to allow the medical team to re-deploy to their positions at the track.
There was more drama before the start with Deniz Oncu crashing on the sighting lap before he got started for 20th, and a bike issue for Salac on the grid, instead joining from pit lane, going on to finish 21st.
Veijer, Jorge Nararro and Mario Ajo all fell during the restarted race.
Championship standings
Gonzalez takes over at the top with 39.5 points, with Guevara also passing Holgado into second with 36 points.
After failing to add to his tally Holgado stays on 33 points, with Vietti moving up four places to fourth, just behind on 32.
The top five is completed by race winner Agius, who now has a total of 25.
His point sees Rueda become top rookie, taking over from Ferrandez, who picked up half a point in Thailand.
