Ugo Ugochukwu took the first Formula 2 Feature Race of the 2026 season.

The American Campos Racing driver won out at Albert Park, battling past Freddie Slater and team-mate Theophile Nael in the opening exchanges.

Unable to match Ugochukwu, Nael's day was made worse after the stewards deemed he was moving before the lights had gone out at the start, resulting in a five-second penalty. With the race ending under the Safety Car due to a crash for Woohyun Shin, this ultimately dropped him out of the points.

Noah Stromsted had also been running towards the front for Trident, before an overly aggressive defensive move on Nicola Lacorte saw him receive a 10-second sanction, putting him to the rear of the order.

Ugochukwu and Slater were joined on the podium by rookie Taito Kato, who completed an impressive weekend for ART, building on his fifth place finish in the Sprint Race.

Neither James Wharton nor Louis Sharp took part in Sunday's race, following their heavy shunt that caused the race-ending red flag on Saturday.

Bruno Del Pino won from pole position in a shortened season-opening Formula 3 Sprint Race for the 2026 season, with a heavy crash between James Wharton and Louis Sharp causing red flags to fly.

Del Pino got his season off to the best possible start, leading home his Van Amersfoort Racing team-mate Enzo Deligny in a frantic opening salvo of the new campaign. Brando Badoer joins the pair on the podium in the provisional results, but was being investigated for a false start prior to the red flags being shown.

The race-ending incident in question occurred between Prema team-mates Wharton and Sharp. The duo had engaged in a ding-dong battle over seventh position, with Wharton cutting back and passing Sharp into Turn 5 in an aggressive move that forced the latter off the track. Attempting to regain the position, Sharp pulled back alongside on the short run to Turn 6, but made contact with the rear of his team-mate's car, causing the pair to crash heavily into the barriers. The resulting barrier damage then caused the following F1 practice session to be delayed.

As the incident took place on lap eight, the results were taken from the last full lap completed. The shortened distance means that only the top five drivers scored points, with Del Pino receiving five points for his victory.

Following a post-race investigation, the stewards handed Sharp a 10-second penalty and two penalty points for being "wholly responsible" for the incident.
