2026 Formula 1 world championship standings after the Japanese Grand Prix
Andrea Kimi Antonelli leads the 2026 drivers’ standings
Mercedes driver Andrea Kimi Antonelli leads the Formula 1 world championship for the first time after a dominant Japanese Grand Prix victory.
The 19-year-old made history as just the second teenager in F1 to win a grand prix last time out in China, while also ending a 20-year wait for another Italian to score a race victory.
He has now followed that up with a dominant victory at the Japanese Grand Prix, converting a second pole position into a second win of the season.
He now leads the championship for the first time and becomes the youngest driver every to do so.
Team-mate George Russell trails him by nine points after the opening three rounds, while Charles Leclerc is in third for Ferrari on 49 points.
Six drivers are yet to score points in 2026.
Mercedes leads in the constructors’ standings by 45 points from Ferrari, while all but two teams are yet to score.
