Isle of Man TT legend Guy Martin to make Honda car racing debut
Guy Martin will take part in a Honda S2000R race in April

Isle of Man TT hero Guy Martin will make his debut in the Racing Hondas Championship in April behind the wheel of an S2000R.
The multiple TT podium finisher has enjoyed an eclectic career, going from prominent road racer to television personality.
Over the years, he has also made race outings in mountain bike events and in pedal car contests.
In April, he will get behind the wheel of a Honda S2000R at Silverstone for the opening round of the Racing Hondas Championship.
Martin will drive a Takata-liveried machine in the S2000 Cup, which he tested recently at Oulton Park.
After 40 laps in the car, he confirmed he will take part in the 2025 season-opening S2000 Cup race, and has options to take part in more rounds later in the year.
“It’s a cracking bit of kit,” he said.
“For me, it was all new, so the day was about getting my eye in and seeing what the car was like.
“I was really pleased with it.
“It’s one of those cars where I just need to build confidence, but I love Hondas, and I really enjoyed it.
“It’s got huge amounts of grip, and after the test I feel really excited to race it in the pack at Silverstone.”
Martin’s Oulton test saw him test new Probite brake components and a different chassis set-up with a view to introducing those as part of the full 2026 race spec.
Racing Honda co-ordinator Paul McErlean added: “Welcoming someone of Guy’s calibre and profile to experience the S2000R was a fantastic opportunity for the championship, and we are delighted that the test has now led to him confirming he will join us for Silverstone.
“He got a genuine feel for the S2000R, and it quickly became clear that the package made a strong impression.
“His decision to race the car for the opening round at Silverstone underlines the level of interest already building around this exciting new class.”
After the Silverstone round, Martin will step aside to be replaced by former British Touring Car Championship driver James Kaye.
