Alex Lowes was fastest on the opening morning of the two-day test in Portimao and the only rider in the 1:40s as times remained largely unchanged from the morning to the afternoon. Nicolo Bulega and Sam Lowes completed the top-three; they were split by only 0.001 seconds.
Miguel Oliveira was fourth for BMW ahead of Iker Lecuona on the second factory Ducati. Michael van der Mark was sixth-fastest overall on the BMW test team bike, just ahead of factory rider Danilo Petrucci. Axel Bassani and HRC test rider Jonathan Rea also featured inside the top-10.
Tommy Bridewell is also present in Portimao with the Superbike Advocates team ahead of the Australian outfit's debut in the championship in just under three weeks. His 2024 BSB rival Kyle Ryde is there, too, and was 19th-fastest on Monday morning.
