2026 Brazilian MotoGP, Goiania - Sprint Race Results
Results from the delayed 2026 Brazilian MotoGP Sprint race at the Autodromo Internacional Ayrton Senna, Goiania, round 2 of 22.

Marc Marquez hunts down Fabio di Giannantonio to win a delayed 2026 Brazilian MotoGP Sprint race at Goiania.
di Giannantonio bolted from pole to build an early lead, but momentum began to swing towards Marquez in the middle stages.
The Italian held firm, but a late mistake onto the home straight allowed Marquez to pounce.
Diggia tried to retaliate on the final lap, but Marquez held firm for his first win since last year’s shoulder injury.
The fight for the final podium place was an Aprilia vs Aprilia affair, with Jorge Martin capitalising on a mistake by Buriram winner Marco Bezzecchi to take over third place at the halfway stage.
Bezzecchi regrouped, but Martin kept his team-mate at bay for a first rostrum on the RS-GP, with Trackhouse rider Ai Ogura in fifth.
Fabio Quartararo started with all guns blazing, passing Bezzecchi and then attacking Marquez for second place behind di Giannantonio.
The Monster Yamaha rider was soon on the defensive, but continued to make life difficult for his rivals on his way to the V4’s best finish of sixth, ahead of Alex Marquez and Francesco Bagnaia.
Pedro Acosta could only manage ninth, albeit as top KTM, but keeps the title lead over Bezzecchi.
Fermin Aldeguer, making his 2026 race debut this afternoon, got sideways off the line and dropped from seventh to 20th on the opening lap.
Joan Mir, Johann Zarco and then Maverick Vinales crashed.
The 15-lap contest was thrown into doubt when a sinkhole was found on the main straight after qualifying, prompting emergency repair work.
After several delays, apparently to allow concrete to dry, the MotoGP Sprint eventually started one hour and 20 minutes later than planned, at 16:20.
All riders picked the hard front tyre, and most the soft rear, although Francesco Bagnaia, Toprak Razgatlioglu, Raul Fernandez and Jack Miller opted for the medium.

Qualifying:
Fabio di Giannantonio took the first Brazilian MotoGP pole position since 2004 despite crashing during an incident-packed qualifying at Goiania on Saturday morning.
The VR46 rider joined Thai Grand Prix winner Marco Bezzecchi in fighting through a closely contested Qualifying 1 before the pair picked up where they left off by battling for pole in Q2.
Fabio di Giannantonio snatched only his second MotoGP pole by 0.070s from Bezzecchi - although the Aprilia rider lapped slightly faster in Q1 - with Marc Marquez also among the five fallers on his way to completing the front row.
Fabio Quartararo claimed an excellent fourth for Yamaha’s new V4, ahead of the RS-GPs of Jorge Martin and Ai Ogura.
The Q2 drama began when Francesco Bagnaia was dumped onto the asphalt in the opening minutes, leaving his factory Ducati heavily damaged.
Cameras then cut to title leader Pedro Acosta sprinting through the gravel after sliding off his KTM, before Marc Marquez also crashed at the same Turn 4, this weekend’s most hazardous corner.
Fortunately, all were back on track for the final run, when Jorge Martin and finally di Giannantonio brought out more yellow flags.
Rookie Diogo Moreira will start his home races from 14th place, just behind HRC’s Joan Mir.
Bezzecchi, Luca Marini and Franco Morbidelli had just one bike available for qualifying after falling in final practice.
Marini, who had the fewest crashes of any full-time rider last year, fell again in Q1, when Pramac’s Jack Miller was also caught out.
The KTMs of Maverick Vinales, Brad Binder and Enea Bastianini will start at the back of the grid.
The 15-lap Brazilian Sprint race begins at 3pm local time (6pm UK).

Final Practice:
Ai Ogura and Aprilia moved to the top during an ultra-close final practice for the 2026 Brazilian MotoGP at Goiania.
After Friday’s mixed conditions, the premier class got their first fully dry session of the weekend on Saturday morning.
Johann Zarco’s Friday best of 1m 21.2s was smashed in the opening laps, with Ogura, tenth on day one, eventually setting a 1m 18.2s
Marc Marquez, Jorge Martin, Francesco Bagnaia, Pedro Acosta and Joan Mir followed as one second covered the top 20 riders, all the way down to Zarco.
Alex Marquez crashed after losing the front at Turn 4 early in the half-hour session, much to his obvious frustration. HRC’s Luca Marini suffered a rare fall, at Turn 1, shortly after.
Toprak Razgatlioglu, who starred with third on Friday, then Thai Grand Prix winner Marco Bezzecchi fell in separate incidents at Turn 4 in the closing stages.
Riders had previously warned of wet patches emerging through the asphalt at Turn 4.
Franco Morbidelli was the last rider to be caught out, at Turn 13.
Fermin Aldeguer is making his 2026 debut this weekend after missing all of pre-season testing and the Thai season opener due to a femur fracture in winter training.
MotoGP is returning to Brazil for the first time since 2004 and to Goiania for the first time since 1989.
No testing has taken place ahead of this weekend, with Michelin offering an enlarged allocation of three front and three (reinforced) rear tyre options.
Qualifying 1 for those outside of the top ten on Friday afternoon, including Bezzecchi, will now begin.
