2026 Brazilian MotoGP, Goiania - Friday Practice Results
Friday practice results from the 2026 Brazilian MotoGP at the Autodromo Internacional Ayrton Senna, Goiania, round 2 of 22.

Johann Zarco got the better of Marc Marquez and rookie Toprak Razgatlioglu during a stormy Friday practice for the 2026 Brazilian MotoGP.
Meanwhile, Aprilia stars Marco Bezzecchi and Raul Fernandez - first and third in Thailand - were caught out by the tricky conditions, sending them into Saturday’s Qualifying 1.
After a damp, delayed opening practice, conditions were dry for the start of the hour-long afternoon session, but with dark clouds and light rain already in the air.
The threatening weather turned the normal session format upside-down, with time attacks at the start, when many riders were also completing their first slick tyre laps of the weekend.
The risks were underlined when Brad Binder was caught out on the patchy track in the opening minutes. Meanwhile, world champion Marc Marquez - fastest on wets for much of FP1 - exchanged the early top spot with Johann Zarco.
Jack Miller fell moments after slotting into third, with home star Diogo Moreira delighting the fans by briefly rising to second before joining Binder and Miller in a Turn 4 lowside.
Zarco, Marquez, Aprilia’s Jorge Martin, morning leader Pedro Acosta, Pramac Yamaha rookie Toprak Razgatlioglu, the returning Fermin Aldeguer plus Francesco Bagnaia, Ai Ogura, Luca Marini and Alex Rins held the top ten transfer places after the initials runs.
Razgatlioglu (3rd), Gresini’s Alex Marquez (6th) and factory Yamaha rider Fabio Quartararo (7th) then defied worsening rain to improve in the middle stages, at the top ten expense of Marini and Rins.
Further back, Aprilia’s Thai Grand Prix winner Bezzecchi and Trackhouse rider Fernandez were only 20th and 21st as the rain intensified, sinking their direct Q2 chances.
With the track too wet for slicks, but not enough for wets, almost all riders sat in the pits for the closing stages.
Bezzecchi was the lone exception, returning to try and change his Qualifying 1 fortune, but track conditions were too far gone.
Another VR46 Academy rider experiencing a session to forget was Franco Morbidelli, who ran out of fuel despite instructions to pit.

Free Practice 1:
Title leader Pedro Acosta leads MotoGP's first Brazilian track session since 2004 during a damp and delayed Free Practice 1 at Goiania.
The 60-minute session began an hour late due to track conditions following heavy morning rain.
All riders started on wet tyres, but with the sun shining through the clouds and the track steadily drying, Jack Miller was first to fit slicks just before the halfway stage.
Nonetheless, puddles remained, with wets keeping reigning MotoGP champion Marc Marquez on top for most of the session, then putting Aprilia's Jorge Martin fastest as the final ten minutes began.
Others joined Miller on slicks for the closing laps, when Pedro Acosta - on wets - posted the best lap of the session for Red Bull KTM.
But Miller got very close on slicks, being left just 0.087s short of Acosta.
Aprilia's Thai Grand Prix winner, Marco Bezzecchi, then Marc Marquez, Franco Morbidelli and Maverick Vinales filled the top six places.
Diogo Moreira kicked off his home weekend in 18th, with fellow rookie Toprak Razgatlioglu in 16th.
No MotoGP testing has taken place at Goiania ahead of this weekend.
Both Friday practice sessions were due to be extended, with Michelin offering an enlarged allocation of three front and three (reinforced) slick rear tyre options for the unknown conditions.
However, due to the morning delay, this afternoon's Practice - which decides the top ten riders with direct Qualifying 2 access - has been pushed back to 4pm local time (7pm UK) and reduced to the normal one hour.
Gresini’s Fermin Aldeguer is making his 2026 debut this weekend after missing all of pre-season testing and the Thai season opener due to a femur fracture in winter training.
MotoGP is returning to Brazil for the first time since 2004 and to Goiania for the first time since 1989.
