Marco Bezzecchi may have dominated the season-opening Thai MotoGP, but second place for Sprint winner Pedro Acosta keeps the KTM rider on top of the world championship standings.

Bezzecchi, who crashed from the early lead of the Sprint, leaves Buriram seven points behind Acosta

However, reigning champion Marc Marquez is already 23 points down after a Sprint runner-up was combined with a late tyre failure, from fourth place, in the grand prix.

Third in both season-opening races hands Trackhouse Aprilia's Raul Fernandez the same position in the early points' standings, with the top Ducati rider Fabio di Giannantonio in seventh.
