WorldSBK title leader Nicolo Bulega has confirmed he is in talks with several teams in pursuit of his MotoGP “dream” for 2027.

However, the Italian added that nothing is likely to be decided until the “big names” have been officially confirmed.

After finishing title runner-up to Toprak Razgatlioglu last season, Bulega beat the Turkish star to a MotoGP debut by standing in for Ducati’s injured champion Marc Marquez in the final two rounds.

Bulega scored a point on each occasion, then bolstered his hopes of a full-time seat in the 2027 Pirelli era by securing a Ducati MotoGP test role alongside this year’s WorldSBK campaign.

But the rumour mill suggests next year’s Desmosedici seats are already filling up fast, putting the 26-year-old in danger of missing out.

However, another MotoGP opportunity appears to have emerged in the form of a potential Trackhouse Aprilia seat, after Ai Ogura’s reported switch to Yamaha.

“Honestly at the moment [I can’t tell you] anything more, because we are just waiting to see [what happens with] the big names in MotoGP,” Bulega told the official WorldSBK website ahead of this weekend’s Assen round.

“But my dream is always, since when I was a kid, to go to MotoGP, like every rider."

Bulega spent six-years in the Moto3 and Moto2 classes before relaunching his career with a switch to WSS in 2022.

The Italian won the title for Ducati the following year, then stepped up to WorldSBK with the official team, where he took the fight to Razgatlioglu in 2024 and 2025.

“At the moment I'm very, very happy here in World Superbike, but the dream is still the dream," Bulega added.

“So we are talking with some teams in MotoGP, with my manager, and we will see very soon what I will do next year.”

Bulega has won all six WorldSBK races so far this season for the Aruba.it Ducati team, giving him a commanding title lead over team-mate and former MotoGP rider Iker Lecuona.
