“Easy to define my limit” says Marco Bezzecchi despite US MotoGP win
Marco Bezzecchi won the US MotoGP in dominant fashion, but warned he’s close to his limit

Marco Bezzecchi says his limit was reached during the US MotoGP sprint, although the Aprilia rider put Saturday’s mistake behind him with another dominant grand prix win.
Bezzecchi crashed out of the sprint while running in second, meaning he’s still yet to win the shorter format race in 2026. However, Bezzecchi’s display in the United States MotoGP at COTA was peerless once again.
Bezzecchi managed to gain the lead from Pedro Acosta on lap one, despite contact being made on the exit of turn 11. From there, the new championship leader was unchallenged.
But the Italian does not feel invincible and pointed to Saturday’s mistake, saying: “Yesterday (the sprint), you saw my limit.
“When you try a bit too much it is very close to the limit. It is a very fine line.
“It is always super tough because we are always at the limit with the MotoGP bikes.
“They are super extreme and you always have to push a lot to go fast. I think it is quite easy to define my limit.”
Bezzecchi’s race-winning overtake on Acosta could have ended in disaster for both riders, as they made contact after both running wide at turn 11.
As Acosta came back on to the racing line, Bezzecchi met the KTM rider which resulted in damage at the rear of Bezzecchi’s Aprilia.
Bezzecchi added: “It was a tough episode, let’s say. In that corner the wind was pushing a lot.
“I saw Pedro [Acosta] go wide and I also went a bit wide. I tried to overtake him in the exit and when I was putting my head over the fairing I was so close and I touched him.
“With the ride-height device and everything it was difficult to avoid the contact.
“I broke [the rear of] my bike. I don’t know if I broke his bike. I hope not.”
Bezzecchi, who has now led the most number of consecutive MotoGP laps in a row thanks to his win in COTA, surpassed Jorge Lorenzo’s previous tally of 103. Bezzecchi now holds the record with a total of 121 consecutive laps led.

Speaking about his achievement, Bezzecchi said: “It’s tough to explain. I don’t know how to describe my emotions.
“Obviously, it’s something you never expect. I work so hard like all the MotoGP riders to achieve these kinds of results but in the end you never expect to achieve something like this.”
