Marco Bezzecchi and Aprilia turned the tables on Ducati during Sunday morning warm-up at the Brazilian MotoGP.

The Italian put his RS-GP ahead of five Desmosedici riders - led by Sprint winner Marc Marquez and younger brother Alex - during the ten-minute session, as most riders switched from the soft to medium rear tyre.

Thai Grand Prix winner Bezzecchi, who lost the final podium place to team-mate Jorge Martin in the Sprint, said:

“This morning was good. I felt better, but the 31 laps will be super tough. Let’s try to put on a good show for the fans.”

Marc Marquez, who took his first win of the season on Saturday, said: “31 laps in my opinion are too long! But let’s see if we can do a get race, with good weather.”

Pole qualifier Fabio di Giannantonio, overtaken by Marquez after a small mistake, suffered a fall on his way to sixth this morning.

“For sure many riders are fast, as we saw this morning Aprilia is in top form. Marc is always there, no matter what… I predict a big fight.”

VR46 team-mate Franco Morbidelli and KTM title leader Pedro Acosta also crashed in warm-up.

Fabio Quartararo, who starred for Yamaha in the early Sprint laps on his way to sixth place, was eighth this morning.

The M1 riders look set to stick with the soft rear tyre for the grand prix, after Pramac duo Toprak Razgatlioglu and Jack Miller struggled on the medium in the Sprint.

“Today will be more difficult. A top ten will be a great result,” warned Quartararo.

The first Brazilian MotoGP since 2004 starts at 15:00 local time (18:00 UK).
