Pecco Bagnaia teases 2027 MotoGP move: ‘I’ve just decided…’
Pecco Bagnaia says his MotoGP future will be known in the coming days

Double MotoGP world champion Pecco Bagnaia says his 2027 plans will be announced in the coming days and has teased that “I’ve just decided” amid strong Aprilia links.
The Italian looked unlikely to retain his factory Ducati seat earlier this winter as reports broke that the brand had re-signed Marc Marquez and had poached Pedro Acosta from KTM.
It comes after Pecco Bagnaia, who won the 2022 and 2023 world titles with Ducati, endured his worst season in factory colours last year.
Initially, Bagnaia had been linked to a Yamaha move, with the Japanese marque set to lose Fabio Quartararo to Honda.
However, in recent days, reports have surfaced that Bagnaia has closed a deal to join the factory Aprilia squad in place of Jorge Martin, who is set to switch to Yamaha.
Bagnaia was tight-lipped on his 2027 plans when asked about them on Saturday at the Buriram test, but says he has made his decision.
“I’m fully focused on the test and on the first race,” he said.
“In a few days, all of the announcements of all the teams will come.
“So, wait for mine.”
Asked if that meant he’d made a decision, he responded: “Yeah, I’ve just decided…”
Aprilia recently confirmed that it had re-signed Marco Bezzecchi on a two-year deal to remain with the brand into 2027.
Bagnaia’s 2026 preparations remain positive after Buriram test day one
Bagnaia ended the opening day of the Buriram test in 10th, but produced another encouraging sprint simulation on the GP26 Ducati.
He is still unsure about which direction to follow with the aero package he will homologate for the start of the season, but notes he is in much better shape at this stage of the winter than he was last year.
“Compared to last year, much better,” he beamed.
“Last year, in the first day of the test, it was very difficult. And today, from the start, I felt better with the new bike.
“We were able to plan well the day and work well. Today was very important to remove some doubts from the fairing we had in Malaysia.
“I think we worked quite well with the new fairing. I also had a sprint simulation in the last part of the day, just to understand if it was working well or not.
“I still have doubts, so it’s difficult, but tomorrow I will have the long run, the long simulation, and we have to decide which fairing I will use.”
