Newly crowned 125cc world champion Julian Simon has confirmed that he will move with his present Aspar team to the new Moto2 championship next season.

Tech 3 has unveiled the rolling chassis that will form the basis for its Moto2 machine, to be raced in the new 600cc four-stroke world championship in 2010.

Leading Moto2 bike all but matches Alvaro Bautista's 250GP race lap record at Jerez.

The fastest Moto2 machine circulated just a few tenths from 2009 250GP pole position pace, during qualifying for the Jerez round of the CEV Formula Extreme Championship.

IRTA has received valid applications from no less than 47 teams, requesting entries for a total of 91 riders, in next year's inaugural Moto2 World Championship.

The FIM has confirmed that the new Moto2 class, which will replace the 250cc World Championship, is to have a single engine supplier.

The foundation for the new Moto2 Championship is revealed ahead of 2011.
