Ferrari F1 protege Antonio Fuoco claimed his first Formula 2 victory of 2018 thanks to a commanding drive in the Monaco sprint race. 

Artem Markelov recorded his second Formula 2 victory of 2018 by taking advantage of a frantic Monaco feature race that saw erstwhile leaders Alexander Albon and Nyck de Vries collide in the pit lane.

George Russell overcame four Virtual Safety Car periods and rain showers to prevail to FIA Formula 2 feature race victory in Barcelona, but his win is under investigation.

Alexander Albon claimed his maiden Formula 2 pole position for the Azerbaijan feature race, beating championship leader Lando Norris to the fastest time in a red-flagged qualifying session in Baku. 

Mercedes junior George Russell believes the 2018 Formula 2 field is the strongest in the history of the category, saying that as many as 15 drivers are capable of winning races such is the depth of talent on display.

Lando Norris says it "would be nice" to give McLaren a "headache" over its future Formula 1 driver line-up plans by winning the Formula 2 title in 2018, but is refusing to dwell on his final step up to the top tier of single-seater racing.
