Adam Cooper attended his first F1 race at Brands Hatch as a 10-year-old fan in 1976. He became a freelance journalist for Autosport magazine in 1985 while still at university, initially covering everything from club racing to the FIA World Sportscar Championship. He was on the staff of Autosport from 1987-92, serving as national editor and features editor and reporting on multiple categories including WEC, IMSA and NASCAR. In 1992 he went freelance again and enjoyed two years living in Tokyo and covering the Japanese racing scene alongside the likes of Eddie Irvine, Mika Salo, Jacques Villeneuve and Roland Ratzenberger. He spent 1994 following the IndyCar series from a base in Indianapolis. At the end of that year he went to the Japanese and Australian GPs and then went full time in F1 from the start of the 1995 season. He has been to every single race since Suzuka '94, hitting a total of 600 GPs with a media pass in Qatar last year. Adam was associated with Autosport and then Motorsport.com for four decades and has also worked for many other publications and websites, including Road & Track, Motor Sport, Autoweek and Racer. He has supplied newspapers The i-Paper and The Sun, and he used to host a race preview show on Sirius radio. He rejoined Crash this year having previously worked for us in 2005.
